Self-care in Difficult Times: Shiatsu Connects
Wednesday, 25 September, 6.30 – 8.30 pm | Saturday, 28 September. 1 – 3 pm
It’s Shiatsu Awareness Month and to celebrate Jenny White is running Self-Care in Difficult Times workshops at Santosa.
About the workshop
When our personal lives or the environment we live in seem a little busy, difficult or chaotic, having a self-care routine can be an important aspect of our routine to keep us grounded, relaxed, and resilient. BUT …self-care is not always that easy.
Often though, we put others first before looking after ourselves. Or when we are feeling particularly busy, stressed or anxious, it’s hard to give space to support ourselves.
In this workshop, Jenny introduces participants to some of her favourite self-care exercises: self-shiatsu exercises, a short mindfulness meditation, and acupressure points for well-being and relaxation and some to help reduce the symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression.
These exercises can be used in ‘bite-size chunks’ which can be used as part of a daily routine to encourage physical and emotional well-being; or when experiencing physical aches and pains; or when some emotional ‘first-aid’ is needed during times of stress and anxiety.
By the end of the session, participants will have been introduced to some simple self-shiatsu exercises, acupressure ‘first aid’ points and mindfulness self-compassion techniques to invigorate and relax the body and mind, especially in times of stress, anxiety and times of difficulty.
You’ll have handouts, so that you can practice what you have learnt at home.
