Ellie has practiced yoga since 2006, but her yoga journey truly began in 2010 in the foothills of the Himalayas. This is where she first met her teacher Yogrishi Vishvaketu Ji at the International Yoga Festival on the banks of the Ganges. Ellie knew from that moment that she would return to his ashram to study yoga.

Following several more trips to India, Ellie completed her YTT200 qualification in Akhanda yoga in Rishikesh with her sister Annie. Shambo Yoga was born from the sisters’ vision to share their profound experience in India. On returning to Edinburgh, Ellie discovered the Yoga In Daily Life Ashram and soon began covering classes for Ganga Ji.

Trained in Akhanda yoga, Ellie’s classes offer a holistic balance of asana, meditation, pranayama and mantra with an emphasis on the breath and awareness.

Her classes nurture flow of breath, encouraging the practice of moving meditation, using the breath to find space inwardly, allowing an expanded level of consciousness and raised awareness in body, mind and spirit.  Ellie looks forward to sharing a blissful practice with you in the beautiful new Santosa studio.
